CPD - continuous professional development
Worldaware runs professional development sessions for teachers and NGO workers and contributes to those organised by other providers, including local education authorities, university departments and Development Education Centres.
This may be provided on a school or college basis for policy or curriculum planning purposes, but, generally, CPD brings together colleagues to enhance their knowledge and understanding of geography, international development, education for global citizenship and sustainable development.
Consultation with lecturers in ITE establishments and providers of local education authority (LEA) and private CPD indicate an interest in external course input on global development issues and about distant localities. Worldaware's experience and independence are highly valued in this context.
The prime target audience is geography specialists or primary school geography coordinators, but this will be supplemented by sessions with a focus on citizenship with a global dimension.
Please make contact with Angus Willson to discuss your CPD requirements.
