Activities - Rainforest Walk
The national bird of St Lucia is a parrot. We have two different drawings you can print out and let your pupils colour in. One drawing is of a flying parrot and the other is of a parrot sitting on a branch. (There is a brief description of the parrot in the 'Parrots and Herons' page of 'Rainforest Walk".)
Ask your pupils to design a colourful poster to illustrate the following slogan:
"Wherever you go - take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footsteps, kill nothing but time."
Print enough copies of the blank outline map of St Lucia for your class. Using a St Lucia mapsheet to guide them, or better still a St Lucia Mapcard, pupils should mark the following towns, villages and rivers on their outline maps.
| Towns | Villages | Rivers |
|---|---|---|
| Castries | Dennery | Canelles |
| Gros Islet | Micoud | |
| Troumasse | Soufrière | Vieux Fort |
