Projects Worldmix

Worldmix

The Worldmix project provides CD-ROMs and a website for investigating and sharing views on globalisation. The first CD-ROM, Culture.cd, is described below. Worldaware has joined with the Vista Foundation in the Netherlands to disseminate the CD-ROM in the UK and Eire and to develop new products.

Culture.cd

Globalisation as a stimulating cocktail of culture and identity.

This package comprises the Culture CD-ROM and a teachers' manual with student (16-plus age group) assignments for history, geography, science, ICT and modern foreign languages. Through the themes of music, sport, fashion, lifestyle, television and tourism, students discover that their own local community is influenced by developments on a world scale.

One Culture.cd, one teachers' manual and students' sheets 30.00: Order code PA-130

Ten Culture.cd's, one teachers' manual and students' sheets 200.00: Order code PA-131

Postage and packing are included in the price.

Pre-payment or credit card payments are preferred. Orders from outside the UK will require extra payment for carriage.

Please write down on the order form your choice of language of the teachers' manual and the students' sheets. The CD-ROM is trilingual (Dutch, German and English).

The Culture.cd has been developed with the assistance of the Commission of the European Communities within the framework of the SOCRATES-programme.

School curriculum guidance service

Worldaware offers a curriculum guidance service to course providers (initial teacher education-ITE and continuing professional development-CPD). Would you like to have more information, or would you like to know the cost? For some immediate assistance see the curriculum guidance on the website.

For stimulating students into a consideration of globalisation see views and quotations.

New Worldmix products

As a school, you can apply to test the prototype of the Money.cd and the Trash.cd, the teachers' manual and the students' activity sheets. As a teacher, you can also make a contribution to the content.
