High seize: drugs and active global citizenship

Based on the experience of devising and running drugs and development youth parliaments in seven European countries, including fourteen across the United Kingdom, this material provides, a support file, a simulation exercise and an information file. This activity aims to support the curriculum areas of geography, personal, social and health education (PSHE) and education for citizenship in the age group of 14-19 year olds at schools and colleges. The material has also been used with youth groups. With sound content related to the drugs trade and international development, youth parliaments have proved an effective means of encouraging further research and dialogue on important issues affecting young people’s dispositions and life-choices - active global citizenship.
