Will be given to a company whose commercial activity has actively fostered an environment that allows socially, economically and environmentally sustainable development to take place in a community.

B The Trade Partners UK Award for Small Businesses in Africa

Will be given to a company with not more than 150 employees for commercial activity which has contributed to viable economic development in an African community.

C The P & O Nedlloyd Award for Infrastructure

Will be given to a company or organisation which has assisted economic and social development through the provision of appropriate, sustainable and environmentally complementary transport systems or other infrastructure.

D The British Council Award for the Effective Transfer of English Language Skills

will be given to a not-for-profit organisation for its contribution to sustainable development through the effective transfer of English Language skills and knowledge.

E The DTI Award for Capacity Building in the Commonwealth

Will be given to a private or public organisation working in the developing Commonwealth which has enhanced its own or others’ ability to participate in international trade.

F The Worldaware Award for Innovation

Will be given to a company or organisation which has developed an innovative idea in, for example, medicine, technology, education or finance, with the proven potential to make a significant contribution to socially, economically or environmentally sustainable development.

G The Worldaware Award for Not-for-Profit Organisations

Will be given to a non-profit-making organisation which has promoted sustainable economic development in poor communities in the developing world through the use of commercal best practice.
