World Conference on Tobacco and Health: Between the 6-10th
August, Chicago hosted the 11th World Conference on Tobacco and
Health, a forum for international collaboration on tobacco control.
This coincided with a WHO report condemning the tobacco industry.

Millennium
World Peace Summit: Aiming to promote religious harmony and
understanding throughout the world, the conference will bring
1000 spiritual and religious leaders from around the world together
at the UN between 28 – 31 August.

been described by the UN Secretary-General as an opportunity to
tackle "all economic issues" and is one of five key
