Copenhagen Plus Five: The special session of the UN General Assembly held in Geneva at the end of June aimed to renew the commitments agreed in 1995 at the World Summit for Social Development in Copenhagen. 11th World Conference on Tobacco and Health: Between the 6-10th August, Chicago hosted the 11th World Conference on Tobacco and Health, a forum for international collaboration on tobacco control. Forthcoming Events

Millennium World Peace Summit: Aiming to promote religious harmony and understanding throughout the world, the conference will bring 1000 spiritual and religious leaders from around the world together at the UN between 28 – 31 August.

UN Millennium Summit: The United Nations Millennium Summit has been described by the UN Secretary-General as an opportunity to tackle "all economic issues" and is one of five key international conference scheduled by the UN.
