The ODI have begun a series of meetings focusing on the theme

and Risks to UK Business
A one day seminar organised jointly by the Institute of Business
Ethics and Transparency International UK. Speakers include the

December 2000 Social Accountability International Second Annual
Conference
This year’s conference will focus on the issues and opportunities
for manufacturers and retailers related to working conditions
in the facilities and those of their suppliers. It will offer
practical experience-based approaches to assuring humane and productive
workplaces throughout the global supply chain and to working constructively
with stakeholders. Expected attendance is over 200 leaders from
business, government, trade unions and non-governmental organisations
concerned about how to assure humane workplaces around the world.
