[ worldaware business awards ] awards 2001

Worldaware believes that good corporate citizenship and social responsibility make sound business sense. Since 1989 the Worldaware Business Awards Scheme has recognised over 50 companies, institutions and non-governmental organisations which have contributed to the development of poorer countries through innovative and sustainable commercial activity.

How the scheme works

The aim of the Awards Scheme is to recognize and promote the contribution which commercial activity can make to the sustainable growth (economic, sustainable, environmental) of developing countries throughout the world.

Once entries have been received they will be considered by a panel of Assessors for each category. The Assessors will ask further questions of the entrants and take up references. Each Assessors’ panel prepares a short-list of entries for the Judges who make the final decision on winners.

The Award trophies will be presented in January 2002 at a ceremony in London. The Awards attract significant media coverage, and winners will be expected to assist Worldaware in providing interviews/copy for journalists.

Winners will be entitled to use an official logo in their publicity material and all winning and short-listed entries are fully described in the prestigious Worldaware Awards Brochure, which is made widely available to media, business and diplomatic communities, and posted on the Worldaware website.

Worldaware staff will be more than happy to assist you with the completion of the Entry Form if entrants have any queries.
