The
Awards
|
|
|
For the past ten years, the Worldaware Business
Awards have been raising awareness of the important
role which British companies can play in promoting
sustainable development through their commercial
activities. By encouraging good corporate
citizenship and a willingness to work alongside the
people of other nations with whom they do business,
British firms and entrepreneurs can set a valuable
example.

How
the Scheme
Works
|
|
|
The focus for the scheme are the countries of
Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
All Award entries are first considered by a
Panel of Assessors and the views of independent
referees obtained. The Assessors then produce a
short-list for the Judges. The Judges then make the
final decision on the Award Winners. All
short-listed entries are described in the Awards
Brochure which is widely distributed among the
business and diplomatic communities.
In January 2000 at a ceremony in London the
Award Winners receive a trophy designed by Kenneth
Grange. They are also entitled to use an Award logo
in their future publicity material.
